Bansard in 3 words: connected, progressive & flexible
Hello Adrian, thanks for your time and congratulations on your promotion! First of all, can you tell us something about yourself and how you entered the sector of transport?
Hello and thank you. I am French and I come from the South of France--from Marseille to be exact. The world of logistics already interested me when I was a young man. I always wanted to work internationally. Therefore, I studied at KEDGE Business School where I obtained a Master's degree in Logistics and International Transport.
My first professional experience was at Airbus Helicopters where I worked in the after-sales contract department, dealing with the logistics issues of material and humans for a military helicopter, in particular for the Australian zone. Then I went to work for the shipping company CMA CGM, in tender/commercial on the North American lines. All these experiences allowed me to develop skills and get used to the world of transport.
And how did your story with the Bansard International group begin?
During my school years, I had the opportunity to do an exchange in China, and I always promised myself to go back to Asia which had been one of my goals. During my time at CMA CGM, I had my first contact with Bansard International, knowing the group's footprint in Asia, then I tried my luck. I met Loïc Benattar who offered me the opportunity to move to Hong Kong, where I was Business Development Manager APAC. I spent almost 4 years there, 4 very enriching and challenging years that allowed me not only to develop professionally but also to meet new people.
Driven by the desire to take up challenges and to meet the needs of the Bansard Group's expansion in South-East Asia, I had the opportunity to accelerate our activities in Vietnam as Country Manager. I was lucky to meet a very warm and professional team. Working with them, I am very confident and optimistic about the next steps of our development.
What about your new position?
It is a real challenge for me to move from a sales position to a management position. The daily tasks have changed, my field of action has evolved, I now have to manage the general business as well as a team. But it is also very exciting!
How do you define leadership, and what kind of leader do you want to be?
I hope to be a good leader and establish a transparent relationship with each member of the team. Above all, I will adapt and understand their culture. This is a priority for me to accomplish.
How can Bansard International support businesses in Vietnam?
We are a freight forwarding agent with many advantages! We benefit from the synergy Bansard + SEKO in Vietnam, with a strong experience on routes to Europe, USA and intra-Asia both in sea freight and air freight. We also benefit from long-term relationships of trust with our local partners for overland transport, logistics and customs. We have been present in Vietnam since 2015. All these elements will allow us to impose ourselves in a country in full expansion and to enjoy a bigger market share.
You mentioned the SEKO Vietnam × Bansard Vietnam synergy. What are your next steps to maximize the benefits?
This will be done in several steps. SEKO established itself in Vietnam last March, and has already built a solid and very professional team. Our common objective is to continue and develop a durable reputation in Vietnam as entities of the same group. In the second step, Bansard-Seko, by synergy effect, will expand its range of products and services and thus its impact on business.
We will be able to support local and international companies in Vietnam by offering them our end-to-end solutions for both freight forwarding and value-added services. By uniting our forces in this fast-growing country which is recovering quickly after the pandemic, We are ready to challenge the local players and impose ourselves.
