As shared during the interview with our maritime expert Christopher Leroy, maritime transport is very strongly challenged: major strikes, new IMO regulations, shortage of space then equipment, PSS and record level of SCFI index. It is difficult for the teams to be able to ensure the shipment of goods and thus allow their export between China and Europe.
But that was without counting on the tenacity and professionalism of the International group's teams in finding solutions for their clients.
This 228m long, 37m wide solution with a total capacity of 3,868 TEU is called the Merkur Fjord.
On December 24, 2020, the ship left the Port of Yantian in China to join, after a few stopovers, France and its final destination port of Le Havre, on January 19.
On board, several hundred TEUs were dedicated to the Bansard group. This capacity, resulting from the hard work of the teams, has enabled clients from various industries (Retail, Medical Products, Electronics, Textiles, Events equipment) to import their goods from Asia.
At destination, our customers were able to benefit from a wide range of Bansard services:
- Completion of customs formalities,
- Direct redelivery to the customer warehouse,
- Delivery to our warehouses in Le Havre for storage, unloading and dispatch to the various end customers (BBOX service),
This operation was a real success thanks to the collaboration of Viven Wei the Bansard China teams from the Shenzhen office, and the members of the various agencies in France including the Procurement department!
Yes, we did it!
